Alberto Navarro Jr., known as Albs,
is a Los Angeles–based artist whose work is an expression of everything that has shaped him and made him who he is. His practice is an ongoing exploration of identity, belonging, and the experience of living in between worlds.

As a Mexican American and a gay man, Albs reflects on the feeling of never being “Mexican enough” or “American enough,” and the expectations placed on who he is supposed to be versus who he feels himself to be. Through painting, collage, and mixed media, his work becomes a visual record of self-discovery—a reflection of what it looks like to slowly get to know, accept, and understand yourself.

His artwork has been featured and published by Cosmopolitan Magazine, YouTube, and Film Maudit.
