The Road Less Traveled explores the emotional and physical journey taken by individuals seeking a better life—often across borders and through uncertainty. The red backdrop evokes both warmth and danger, reflecting the dual nature of risk and hope. Below, the striped pattern subtly references the visual language of borders, confinement, and state-imposed limitation.
Two figures appear suspended in time: one walking ahead, the other carrying a guitar, symbolizing culture, memory, or burden. An unintentional cut to the leading figure’s foot adds to the narrative, becoming a poignant reminder of the toll migration can take on the body and soul. This work is about endurance, sacrifice, and the unseen paths people take in pursuit of possibility.
