When I stumbled upon these photos of these young gay men imprisoned in Mexico City in 1935 for "defiant behavior" I was immediately captivated by them. They show so much nerve, charisma and pride. These young men and women were imprisoned for being gay. They were put in the prison ward J, for jota.
