This mixed-media work reflects on childhood memory as a site of joy, contradiction, and social awareness. Drawing from the artist’s own upbringing, the painting reconstructs familiar neighborhood scenes—ice cream trucks, family gatherings, children in motion—while embedding critiques of consumerism and labor.

The ice cream truck functions as both spectacle and refuge, its open interior offering abundance while concealing its fleeting promises. The melting SpongeBob popsicle signals the inevitable collapse of manufactured joy, while the paletero figure honors the often-invisible workers who persist outside corporate systems. Physical materials—polymer clay figures, wires, and hanging shoes—anchor the work in lived urban experience, blurring the line between painting, object, and memory.
